Welcome to my website. My name is Paula Edgar, I live 25km south of Adelaide, the capital city of South Australia. The beach is a 5 minute walk or 2 minute jog (depending on how energetic you are feeling) from my house. During the summer months, I exercise my dogs at the beach almost every night. It is a "dog" beach so they are allowed to run off lead all year round. The dogs love this form of exercise as they can play and socialize with all their other doggie friends and take a swim whenever they want to.  Most Ridgebacks enjoy water sports.  On the way to the beach the dogs get to "hunt" bunnies in the reserve - just to keep the bunnies fit, of course!

The dogs and I also enjoy long walks through Kuitpo forest on most weekends in the cooler months.  We are very lucky to have such great places to run dogs free to enable them to explore and just "be dogs".  Occasionally I take Kube through the forest whilst horse riding with friends - he just just loves it!!

I have owned Rhodesian Ridgebacks since 1984.  I had my first litter in 1990.  Breeding programs I manage are selective and to date have produced 12 litters.   From each litter, I only register the very best for show or breed purpose.   I am also a trained obedience instructor.

Seven of my breeding have gone on to win Best In Show (All Breeds Championship Show) Multiple Best In Show and Runner Up in Show at Specialty level - including various property classes ie: best headed, best gaited, best sire & dam's progeny and most successful Sire & dam & best brace.  There have also been many Class In Show, Best In Group and Class In Group awards under local, interstate and international judges.   To date Macumazahn Kennels has won 18 BEST IN SHOW  and numerous runner up best in show awards at Specialty level, including Australia & Europe.

My aim is to breed selectively, having regard for the standard and the purpose for which the Rhodesian Ridgeback was originally intended. Excellent temperaments are also a must, after all, they are part of your family for generally 10 plus years.
