Ch. Groberspals Nyssa
23rd February 1987 – 26th January, 1995
Nyssa was my second Ridgeback and my foundation bitch. I thank Rob and Annette Surman of “Groberspals Kennels” for allowing me to have such a wonderful lady in my life. She had a successful show career winning numerous awards and gained her Australian Champion title in 1989.
Nyssa retired from the show ring in 1990 to take up maternal duties. She had three very successful litters and was unbeaten in the 6 Dam and Progeny classes she contested. Two of them being the 1st & 2nd National Rhodesian Ridgeback Champ Shows in 1992 – Sydney judged by Mr. H. Muller (Switzerland) and 1994 – Perth judged by Mrs. B. Sawyer-Brown (USA). Nyssa was taken tragically from me on Australia Day 1995. I still miss her very much and would love to have her back. Now she at least has Nubie & Khoia on the other side of the “rainbow bridge” to play and cuddle with. She lives on through her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Many of whom have gained their titles in both the conformation and obedience rings.
